Education & Training provides your organization with tools that support vibrant organizational culture where everyone can bring forward their own creative solutions to complex issues in this ever changing world.

Often the solutions to problems organizations face are already in the room and our cultural heritages. However, external and internalized systems of oppression prevent people from sharing their creative solutions or listening to people with certain identities. These systems also cut us off from knowing our own cultural stories of resilience in times of great upheaval.

In order for organizations to navigate the challenges of climatic and political change, we need “all hands on deck” - including our cultural heritages. Organizations need (1) to understand how systems of oppression are operating (2) root in our lineages of resilience (3) practice processes where everyone can bring their ideas, dialogue respectfully about those ideas and decisions can be made in transparent, equitable ways.

Your entire organization or sub-groups will gather with me in natural settings and together we learn and practice the skills of cultural vibrancy.

Activities we do together may include:

  • Each 1, Teach 1 Forest Walk: A forest walk with cards on trees describing ways white supremacy culture can show up in the workplace. People learn & teach along the walk and then debrief

  • Council in a meadow: A form of circle share where each person gets an opportunity to speak their truth and be witnessed on a specific topic (e.g. how did your ancestors teach you resilience?)

  • Fist-to-5 by the Bay: A form of consensus decision making that allows for gradations in excitement for a proposal. We’ll practice using it to decide if we should swim in the bay together!

Learning the skills for cultural vibrancy can take years of practice building trust, safety and belonging. Putting in this work may feel slow at times, however, you are building an organizational culture that is deeply connected, effective and connected to purpose. The benefits will not only be felt in your organization, but in all of the lives of the people your organization touches.
